The Straight Deal on Warranty
We build equipment to be used, abused, and trusted in demanding conditions. Here is our straightforward, fine-print-free approach to standing behind our gear.
The Short Version (TL;DR)
Here’s the straight deal: We build honest gear made for real work and real riding. If something fails on day one because we put it together wrong in the factory, or a snap pops off right away due to a defect, we’ll fix it or replace it. Simple as that.
If you snag your pants on a sharp running board, burn a hole on a hot exhaust, or wear through the stitching after months of sliding across workshop floors... that’s not a factory defect, that’s just the laws of physics. Thread is fiber, not rebar, and continuous friction will win eventually.
But no matter what happens, warranty issue or pure bad luck, please reach out to us. We’re always happy to help, get creative, and figure out a solution so you stay happy and keep using your gear.
Our 2-Year Guarantee
We guarantee every piece of Mountain Grit gear against defects in materials and craftsmanship for 2 years from the date of purchase. If something fails because we messed up in development or manufacturing, we’ll make it right. Period.
What Counts as a Defect
- Hardware Failures Snaps popping off, buckles cracking, or zipper sliders failing right out of the box.
- Fabric & Material Flaws Waterproof membranes delaminating or technical fabrics failing early due to a genuine flaw in the material.
- Factory Errors Missed stitches or seam tape peeling off due to improper bonding during assembly.
Normal Wear & Tear
- Friction & Wear Thread getting worn down from the outside due to continuous friction against workshop floors, footsteps, or heavy brush. As tough as our thread is, it’s still fiber, not steel wire.
- Battle Scars Tree branch punctures, sharp running board gouges, chainsaw nicks, or fence wire snags.
- Heat & Chemicals Melting gear on a hot muffler, welding sparks, or battery acid spills.
- Accidents Dog chew toys, trailer mishaps, or using your jacket as a tow strap.
Damaged Your Gear? We Still Have Your Back
Ripped a hole in your pants on a sharp piece of metal or caught a branch at speed? Don't stress, and definitely don't toss your gear in the trash. While we don’t keep rolls of spare fabric sitting around to ship across the country, we are more than happy to help you find a local repair shop or seamstress who can patch it up properly at a direct cost to you.
Reach Out No Matter What
We mean this: If you have an issue with your gear, drop us a line regardless of what happened. Even if it’s totally on you, or outside the 2-year window, reach out anyway. We’d rather have a conversation, get creative, and figure out a way to help you out than have you sitting home frustrated. We care about our community, and we want you out there using your gear.
A Quick Note on "Lifetime Warranties"
You’ve probably seen big brands advertise "Lifetime Warranties" in huge letters. But if you read the fine print, "lifetime" usually means the legal "practical life" of the garment (which their lawyers decided was 18 months), or it comes with ten pages of exclusions.
We don't play fine-print games. We’d rather just give you an honest 2-year guarantee against factory errors, treat you like a human being, and be there to help when real life happens.
How to Get in Touch
No 10-page forms or robot phone trees.
Take a couple of clear pictures showing the issue and the overall garment.
Email warranty@mountaingrit.com with your order number and a quick note on what happened.
We’ll review it, talk to you like a neighbor, and figure out the best way to get you sorted.
